Plug-ins

Work from your own software. What clients choose comes back.

Shyreo plugs into Lightroom Classic, Capture One, DaVinci Resolve and Premiere Pro. Publish straight into a gallery, and what your clients leave comes back where you edit: their hearts, stars and colour labels onto your photos, and their notes on a film as markers on your timeline.

How it works

  1. 01 ▸

    Download the plug-in

Lightroom Classic: a folder called Shyreo.lrplugin.

Capture One: three scripts in a folder called Shyreo for Capture One.

DaVinci Resolve Studio: one file, Shyreo.lua.

    Premiere Pro: one file, shyreo-premiere.ccx.

All four are here and in your dashboard, under Settings, Plug-ins.

  2. 02 ▸

    Add it to your program

Lightroom Classic: File, Plug-in Manager, Add, and choose the Shyreo.lrplugin folder.

Capture One: Scripts, Open Scripts Folder, put the three scripts in it, then Scripts, Update Scripts Menu.

DaVinci Resolve Studio: put Shyreo.lua in the Utility folder of Resolve's scripts (the read-me says where) and open Resolve again.

Premiere Pro: close Premiere Pro, double-click shyreo-premiere.ccx and click Install when Creative Cloud asks.

  3. 03 ▸

    Make a code and connect

Make a code in your dashboard, under Settings, Plug-ins.

Lightroom Classic: in the Publish Services panel, click Set Up next to Shyreo, paste the code and click Connect.

Capture One: copy the code, choose Scripts, Shyreo Connect and click Connect. It takes the code from your clipboard.

DaVinci Resolve Studio: choose Workspace, Scripts, Shyreo, paste the code and click Connect.

Premiere Pro: copy the code, choose Window, UXP Plugins, Shyreo and click Connect. It takes the code from your clipboard.

  4. 04 ▸

    Publish

Lightroom Classic: drag photos into a published collection under Shyreo and press Publish.

Capture One: select photos and choose Scripts, Shyreo Publish.

The gallery stays a draft until you publish it in Shyreo. The film itself you upload in the gallery's Video tab.

  5. 05 ▸

    Bring the choices in

Lightroom Classic: tick “Put clients' stars and colour labels on the photos” in the service's settings, and they come in by themselves.

Capture One: open the shoot and choose Scripts, Shyreo Client Choices.

DaVinci Resolve Studio: in the Shyreo window, choose the video that goes with the timeline. The notes come in as markers, and stay up to date while the window is open.

Premiere Pro: in the Shyreo panel, choose the video that goes with the sequence. The notes come in as markers, and stay up to date while the panel is open.

What is in it

  • Lightroom Classic: a collection is a gallery, and publishing an edit again replaces the photo, with every heart and comment on it
  • Capture One: publish the photos you select from the Scripts menu, and bring clients' stars, colour labels and favorites back as ratings, colour tags and albums
  • DaVinci Resolve Studio and Premiere Pro: every note on a film as a marker on your timeline, at its second, kept up to date every two minutes
  • One code connects a computer to your studio, for every program here
  • Publishing works on every plan; stars and colour labels from Starter, video from Pro

Lightroom Classic

Shyreo is a publish service in Lightroom Classic, on a Mac or a PC.

  1. 01

    To Shyreo

The JPEG Lightroom renders, in sRGB, at the size and quality in your publish settings. A new edit, title, caption, keywords or capture date marks a photo to publish again. Taking a photo out of the collection takes it out of the gallery. Video stays in Lightroom.

  2. 02

    Back into Lightroom

In the Comments panel: every heart with the client's name, each client's stars and colour label, and every comment, your own replies included. With one tick the stars and colour labels go on your photos themselves, every two minutes while Lightroom is open.

Capture One

NewMac

Three scripts for Capture One's Scripts menu, for Capture One 16 or later on a Mac.

  1. 01

    To Shyreo

Shyreo Publish has Capture One render the photos you select with a process recipe called Shyreo, a JPEG in sRGB, and sends them to a gallery while you keep working. A photo published again takes its old place, with what clients left on it. Publishing needs Capture One Pro.

  2. 02

    Back into Capture One

Shyreo Client Choices puts clients' stars on your photos as the rating and their colour labels as colour tags, and makes albums with the favorites and with each selection a client sent. You choose what comes in; nothing is taken away.

  3. 03

    Found by name

Photos are found by what they were published as, and otherwise by file name in the folder or album that is open. So it works for a gallery uploaded in the browser too.

DaVinci Resolve

NewStudio

A plug-in for DaVinci Resolve Studio, under Workspace, Scripts, on a Mac or a PC.

  1. 01

    Notes as markers

Choose the video that goes with the timeline, and every note your client left on it comes onto the timeline as a marker at its second: blue while it is open, green once it is done, with the answers in the marker's note.

  2. 02

    Up to date by themselves

While the Shyreo window is open, it looks again every two minutes: new notes come in, changed ones change and deleted ones go. Markers you made yourself are never touched.

  3. 03

    In the free version

Since version 19.1 the free DaVinci Resolve does not let scripts open a window, so the plug-in needs Studio. In the free version you take the markers as a file, from the video's feedback in your dashboard, again for each update.

Premiere Pro

New

A panel for Premiere Pro 25.6 or later, under Window, UXP Plugins, on a Mac or a PC.

  1. 01

    Notes as markers

Choose the video that goes with the sequence, and every note your client left on it comes onto the sequence as a marker at its second: blue while it is open, green once it is done, with the answers in the marker's comments.

  2. 02

    Up to date by themselves

While the Shyreo panel is open, it looks again every two minutes: new notes come in, changed ones change and deleted ones go. Markers you made yourself are never touched.

  3. 03

    Known by their last line

The last line of a marker's comments, shyreo: and a number, is how the panel knows its own markers. Leave it there: without it, a marker counts as yours.

Only where you switch them on

  • Clients only give stars and colour labels in a gallery where you switched on “Stars and colour labels” in its Settings. From Starter
  • With several clients the newest counts; a photo nobody rated keeps its own
  • Notes on a film only where you switched on feedback for that video
  • A new gallery from Lightroom or Capture One stays a draft until you publish it in Shyreo

Codes and your team

  • One code per computer, made under Settings, Plug-ins after “Confirm it's you”, and shown once. It works for Lightroom, Capture One, DaVinci Resolve and Premiere Pro alike
  • Up to 10 working codes per person
  • The owner and admins see and can revoke every code in the studio
  • Photographers, admins and the owner can use them; editors and viewers cannot. A code stops working when its person leaves the studio

Questions

Does it work with Lightroom (the cloud version) or the app on a phone?

No, only with Lightroom Classic. That is where the publish services are, and the plugin is one of them.

Does it work with Capture One on Windows?

No. Capture One runs scripts on a Mac only. Lightroom Classic, DaVinci Resolve and Premiere Pro work on a Mac and a PC.

Does it work with the free DaVinci Resolve?

Not the plug-in: since version 19.1 the free version no longer lets scripts open a window, and the plug-in lives in one. In the free version you download the markers as a file from the video's feedback in your dashboard, and import it with Timelines, Import, Timeline Markers from EDL; for an update, you do that again. In DaVinci Resolve Studio the plug-in keeps them up to date by itself.

Do the plug-ins cost anything?

No. Publishing works on every plan, Free included. Clients' stars and colour labels are part of the paid plans, from Starter, and video from Pro.

What happens when I edit a photo again?

Publish it again, from Lightroom or from Capture One. The new version takes the old one's place in the gallery, with every heart and comment on it.

Do stars and colour labels come in by themselves?

In Lightroom, yes, once you tick the box in the service's settings: every two minutes while Lightroom is open, and only what differs is written to your photos. This needs plugin 1.2.0 or later. In Capture One you bring them in with Scripts, Shyreo Client Choices.

Is a new gallery online straight away?

No. A gallery that comes from Lightroom or Capture One stays a draft until you publish it in Shyreo.

How do I update the plugin?

Lightroom Classic: download the new version, put its Shyreo.lrplugin folder in place of the old one, then quit Lightroom Classic and open it again. Reloading in the Plug-in Manager is not enough when a version brings new files. Capture One: put the new scripts in place of the old ones, then Scripts, Update Scripts Menu. DaVinci Resolve: put the new Shyreo.lua in place of the old one. Premiere Pro: close Premiere Pro and double-click the new file, as the first time.
