Watermarks

From Starter

Your logo on the previews. The original stays clean.

Switch it on per gallery and set it up with a live preview.

How it works

  1. 01 ▸

    Upload your logo

The watermark is your logo, so it starts under “Branding”. A transparent PNG or SVG works best.

  2. 02 ▸

    Switch it on

Open the gallery, go to “Branding & watermark” and switch on “Use logo as watermark”.

  3. 03 ▸

Set it on your own photograph

Pick the “Position”, then slide “Opacity” and “Size”. The preview shows it on one of the gallery's photographs, the way it will come out.

  4. 04 ▸

    Choose where it goes

Under “Apply to”: “Gallery previews only”, “Downloads only” or “Both”. Then press “Save watermark”.

  5. 05 ▸

    Keep it as a preset

From Pro, name it under “Save current as preset”. Under “Branding”, the star makes a preset the default for new galleries.

What is in it

  • Opacity, size and position: in the centre or in one of the corners
  • On the previews, on the downloads, or on both
  • Save presets, like “Proofing” or “Small bottom right” (from Pro)
  • The original is never altered; whoever may download originals gets the clean file

The details

  • Opacity from 1 to 100%, size from 5 to 100% of the photograph's width
  • It starts in the centre, at 25% opacity and 30% of the width
  • Previews are the grid and the large photograph; downloads are the web (2048 px) and high-resolution (4096 px) files
  • Made into the copies on the server, not laid over the photograph in the browser
  • A new gallery takes the default preset's settings; switching the watermark on stays your choice per gallery

Questions

Which plan do I need?

Watermarks come with Starter and every plan above it. Saving presets comes with Pro.

Can I use text instead of a logo?

No. The watermark is always your logo; until you upload one, the switch stays off.

What happens when I change the watermark or my logo?

Save it, and the copies are made again with the new settings as your clients open the photographs. You upload nothing again.

Do clients who download originals get a watermark?

No. Originals never carry one. The web and high-resolution downloads do, when you choose “Downloads only” or “Both”.

Can a client's brand have its own watermark?

Yes. The watermark is the logo of the gallery's brand, so a gallery under a client's brand carries their logo. Brands for clients come with Studio.
